Joyful Threads provides underprivileged children in Boston with the experience of shopping for clothing at no charge.
New and lightly used clothing is donated, cleaned, and displayed in a mobile boutique that mimics a retail store. Joyful Threads partners with local organizations and schools to offer unique experiences for children in need, and provide volunteer opportunities for those looking to give back to the community.

After learning about challenges families face accessing quality and affordable clothing, Weston native Ellie Katz saw an opportunity to make a difference in her community.
In 2023, Ellie worked tirelessly to launch a mobile boutique that provides a curated shopping experience to those in need - free of charge! Through partnerships with local organizations and schools, Ellie has collected and distributed over 5,000 donated articles of clothing, helping families shop with pride and confidence.
Program Overview
The Heroes Among Us program is one of the premier community outreach programs in professional sports. Established as an initiative of the Boston Celtics in 1997, Heroes Among Us honors individuals who have made an overwhelming impact on the lives of others.
The Heroes Among Us Award is presented to an individual or individuals who, through their unique commitment and humanitarian spirit, have made exceptional and lasting contributions to our community. For over 20 years, at each home game, the Celtics and their fans have saluted the exemplary efforts of these citizens during a special in-game presentation on the legendary parquet floor. This program is proudly presented by IBEW Local 103, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and NBC Sports Boston.
